Lead response & follow-up for UK service businesses

Never let another enquiry go unanswered.

New enquiries are acknowledged automatically, you’re alerted when they land, and leads that go quiet are followed up for you.

Installed and managed around the tools you already use.

15 minutes. No obligation. See the system working on a real enquiry.

Works with your existing website form and Gmail or Google Workspace inbox. Your customers keep contacting you the way they do now. We connect the automation behind the scenes.

Illustration of how an enquiry is handled: a new enquiry arrives through your website or email, the customer gets an automatic response, you get a lead alert on your phone, the customer books a callback into your calendar, and if they go quiet a follow-up is sent at 24 hours and again at 72 hours.

How it works

Three things happen when someone gets in touch.

No new app to open. No dashboard to check.

  1. 01

    Enquiry arrives

A customer contacts you through your existing website or business email.

  2. 02

The customer gets an automatic response

The customer knows their enquiry has been received and what happens next.

  3. 03

    You’re alerted

On Pro, the important details are sent to your phone by SMS.

Booking

The customer can choose a callback time and it appears in your calendar.

No response?

  • 72 hoursFollow-up 2

Stops automatically when the customer replies or books.

One enquiry. Automatic response. Owner alert. Booking. Follow-up.

The real problem

You don’t need more leads if you’re losing the ones you already have.

Many service businesses don’t have a lead problem. They have a response and follow-up problem.

  1. A customer sends an enquiry.

They need someone, and they’re ready to book.

  2. You’re busy.

    • Driving
    • With a customer
    • On a job
    • In a meeting
    • Running the business
  3. Hours later, you reply.

It’s the first chance you’ve had all day.

  4. They’ve already contacted three competitors.

And one of them answered first.

What changes

Every enquiry gets a fair chance of becoming a customer.

  • Respond automatically

Every enquiry that reaches your connected inbox or form gets an acknowledgement, without you stopping what you’re doing.

  • Know when leads arrive

On Pro, a text to your phone with the details that matter.

  • Follow up consistently

Quiet leads are chased at 24 and 72 hours, and it stops when they reply or book.

  • Keep bookings organised

Customers choose a callback time and it lands in your Google Calendar.

  • Stay focused on the work

No new inbox to watch and no dashboard to check.

  • Installed and managed for you

Set up around your existing tools. If something needs changing, you talk to a person.

Pro · Review requests

Great work deserves to be recognised.

Your team finishes the job. SouthEdge takes care of asking for the review. Build a stronger online reputation with automated requests that fit into your existing workflow.

  • Starts when you say the job is done. Your team marks the job as done in your lead record. Nothing is sent before that.
  • A thank-you from your business. Within a day the customer gets a short email asking for honest feedback on Trustpilot, good or bad.
  • Built to ask everyone. Every job you mark as done gets the same single request. Nothing screens out unhappy customers, and nothing is offered for a review.

Included in Pro. Sent by email from your business, with an opt-out in every request. Needs your own Trustpilot business profile (free to set up; Trustpilot’s free plan limits how many automatic invitations it sends each month).

Illustrative example of a review request: your team marks a job as done, the customer gets a thank-you email from your business within a day, she can open your Trustpilot review page, and leave an honest public review if she chooses.

Example customer and wording, for illustration. If you use Trustpilot’s automatic invitations, Trustpilot sends its own invitation a few days after your thank-you (Trustpilot sets the timing).

Receiving enquiries isn’t the problem.

The problem is what happens in the hours after they arrive.

Without the system

  1. Enquiry arrives
  2. Sits in your inbox for hours
  3. Customer tries two other companies
  4. You remember to reply later
  5. Nobody follows up

With the system

  1. Enquiry arrives
  2. Customer gets an automatic acknowledgement
  3. You get an alert (by text on Pro)
  4. They can book a callback
  5. Quiet leads are followed up automatically

Who you’ll be dealing with

Hi, I’m Tom.

I built this after watching good local businesses lose work for one reason: the enquiry landed while they were on a job, and by the time they replied the customer had already booked someone else.

This isn’t another app to learn. It sits behind the website form, email and calendar you already use, acknowledges every enquiry automatically, alerts you when a lead arrives, and chases the ones that go quiet.

I set it up, I look after it, and if something needs changing you talk to me, not a support queue.

FAQ

Questions owners usually ask.

Anything else? Ask on the call, or send a test enquiry and reply to the email you get back.

No. Your customers keep using your existing website enquiry form or business email. We connect the automation behind the scenes. The form on this page is only a demonstration.

If your website form can send enquiries to the system directly, they are picked up straight away. Otherwise, and for enquiries that arrive by email, your inbox is checked about every 15 minutes, so the acknowledgement usually goes out within 15 minutes. We go through the timing for your setup on the call.

No. The system works around tools you already use, such as your website, email and calendar. There is no app to install. Your leads are kept in a simple shared spreadsheet that you only open when you want to, for example to mark a lead as won or a job as done.

Follow-up stops. Before any follow-up is sent, the system checks whether the customer has replied or booked, and if they have, nothing goes out. The aim is that nobody is chased after they’ve already answered.

The first reply is a short, honest acknowledgement. It tells the customer their enquiry has arrived and what happens next. It doesn’t claim to be a personal reply, and it never makes up prices or availability. The urgent version says plainly that it’s an automatic confirmation, and you can have that line on every message. You choose the wording.

Yes. The wording is yours. The standard follow-ups go out at 24 and 72 hours, and the timing can be adjusted to suit your business.

At the moment the system works with Google email (Gmail or Google Workspace), and with website forms that send enquiries by email or can be connected directly. Enquiries by phone, WhatsApp or social media aren’t picked up. We check your setup on the first call, before you commit to anything.

The workflow is set up with your volume in mind. If you receive a lot of enquiries, we size it accordingly during setup.

Basic automatically responds to enquiries, sends the 24- and 72-hour follow-ups and connects your booking flow. Pro includes everything in Basic, plus an SMS to the owner with the key details when a new lead arrives, automated review requests after finished jobs, additional customisation and priority support. If you ask for it in writing, Pro can also text your customers an acknowledgement and one follow-up when they give a UK mobile number.

When a job is finished, your team marks it as done in your lead record. Within a day the customer gets a short thank-you email from your business asking for honest feedback on Trustpilot. Depending on how your Trustpilot account is set up, the email either includes your review link or Trustpilot sends its own invitation a few days later (Trustpilot sets that timing). Our system sends one request per finished job, and every request includes a simple way to opt out.

Trustpilot. You need your own Trustpilot business profile, which is free to set up (Trustpilot’s free plan limits how many automatic invitations it sends each month). Review requests are sent by email. The system doesn’t send Google review requests or text messages for reviews, and it never writes or posts reviews for anyone.

No. The system sends the same single request for every job you mark as done; nothing screens out unhappy customers and nothing is offered for a review. You agree to mark every finished job as done, at the same point. Inviting only happy customers, offering anything in return for a review, or steering unhappy customers away from leaving one are against Trustpilot’s rules, and UK law bans fake and misleading reviews. The email also invites the customer to reply if anything isn’t right, so you hear about problems as well.

No. The service runs month to month with no minimum term. You can cancel at any time and it simply runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
